By far the least well-known of the Hessle Audio imprint, but by no means the least talented, is Pangaea, who tops my ‘Most Played’ list in iTunes with his unforgettable ‘Memories’ release.
Untold’s Hemlock Recordings is the latest to be blessed by a Pangaea two tracker. A side, ‘Hex’, being described as the ‘spirit of ’92 via Plastic People’, takes us back with his early Rave/Jungle infused rhythms layered over dark droning bass melodies and tribal atmospherics. On the flip is 'Fatalist', with fidgety beats, boisterous vocals and ‘scratched out’ basslines.
